I had been a Christian for eight years—faithfully attending church, reading my Bible, participating in small groups, and serving in our church and community. My faith felt alive. I was learning, growing, and soaking up truth. I truly thought I had a strong grasp on what it meant to follow Jesus.
Then one day, I heard something that completely rocked my world.
I learned that there are approximately 3 billion people on the planet who have never heard the name of Jesus.
What? How could that be?
In a world where we have information, technology, and instant access to anything at our fingertips, I was stunned. I knew there were other religions. I knew not everyone believed in Jesus. But I had never considered that there were entire people groups—entire languages, entire regions—where the gospel had never been preached even once.
Apparently, I had been living in a bubble—assuming the rest of the world looked a lot like America. But in that moment, my comfortable understanding of Christianity shattered. I realized there were still places where churches don’t exist, where Bibles don’t circulate, and where no one has ever been told that Jesus loves them.
That realization changed everything. I could no longer stay on the same path. I had to get engaged. I had to do something.
What began as a personal awakening has grown into a life-consuming mission—and now, through this blog series, we want to take you along that journey. Our hope is that as you read, your heart will be stirred just as ours was, and that you’ll discover your own place in God’s global story.
Why This Series Matters
This 7-part blog series is the outflow of that life-altering moment. Over the years, God has continued to break our hearts for the unreached and unengaged—those who have little to no access to the gospel. This isn’t just a mission. This is God’s mission, and it’s the heartbeat of our lives and ministry.
But here’s what we’ve learned: you don’t have to move across the world to be part of God’s global mission. You just have to be willing to say yes—right where you are.
