What Breaks God's Heart?
Blog 2 in the series: Until All Have Heard — A Journey into God’s Heart for the UnreachedWe remember the moment clearly.
It was the day we realized that God’s mission wasn’t just about
us growing spiritually, serving faithfully, or living out our faith in our own context. It was about something much bigger—something eternal. It was the day we began to see the world through
God’s eyes.
We were confronted with a truth we could no longer ignore:
over 3 billion people in the world today are considered “unreached.” That means they don’t have access to the gospel—not through a local church, a believing friend, or even a Bible in their language. They are spiritually isolated, not because they’ve rejected the message of Jesus, but because they’ve simply
never heard it.
That broke our hearts. And more importantly, we believe it breaks God’s.
A God Who Blesses to Be a BlessingFrom the very beginning, God has had all peoples in His heart. When He called Abraham, He didn’t just promise to bless his family—He promised to bless
all nations through him.
“I will bless you... and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”— Genesis 12:2–3
This promise wasn’t a side note. It was the
heartbeat of God’s plan to redeem the world.
All throughout Scripture, we see this theme repeated—God’s desire to gather people from
every nation, tribe, people, and language into His family. The final picture we get in Revelation is of a glorious multitude worshipping Jesus from every corner of the earth.
“…a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…”— Revelation 7:9
This is where the story is headed—and God is inviting us to be part of it.
Seeing With New EyesBefore this journey, we didn’t understand how spiritually unreached the world still is. Like many, we assumed that Christianity had “spread everywhere by now.” But when we began to learn about the billions who remain without access to Jesus, something shifted in us.
Suddenly, our prayers changed. Our dreams changed. Even our understanding of success and calling began to change.
We started asking,
What breaks God’s heart? And if it breaks His heart… shouldn’t it break ours too?
What About You?We don’t share this to guilt anyone. That’s never been our intent. We share it because
we want to invite you into the same holy burden that changed everything for us. We want you to feel the weight of it—but also the joy and the privilege of being part of what God is doing.
Maybe you’ve never thought much about unreached people groups. Maybe this is your first time hearing about them. Or maybe, like us, you’ve been in church for years but never realized how many people have never even heard the name of Jesus.
Wherever you are, we invite you to ask one simple question:
Does my heart break for what breaks His?Coming Up Next…In our next post, we’ll unpack what we mean when we say
unreached and
unengaged. These aren’t just mission terms—they represent real people with real faces and no access to the hope we’ve found in Christ.
Until then, would you take a moment to pray this prayer with us?
“Lord, help me to see the world the way You do. Break my heart for what breaks Yours. And show me how I can be part of bringing Your name to those who have never heard it.”Let’s keep walking this journey together—
until all have heard,Jeremy and Lindsay
